The realm of Blokus

Defend your tower, defeat your enemies and win in this very challenging game called...

THE REALM OF BLOKUS. I, Jake the jaguar, Miro the monkey and Max F the meerkat are in battle against Blokus the bat. To play you must be able to keep your territory, get into others domains and take their village. We are a team named J.M.M trying desperately to try and defeat Blokus. The rules of the game are to make sure your pieces are always diagonal to your other pieces. Your pieces can touch others pieces as well. The aim of the game is to try and trap your opponents, ( which in our case is Blokus) so they cannot put another piece in place. Today, the J.M.M team finally defeated Blokus and earned the placings of village knights for our bravery and thinking.

Chess

Today I moved from 2nd last to 4th on the chess leader board by beating Max F in a game of chess. Max was very hard to beat because he had a lot of strategies and was always trying to kill my queen. I checkmated him with 2 queens becaue I got my pawn to the other end to get the 2nd queen. At the end of the game there was only our kings, my 2 queens and another one of my pawns.

Patterns

Today is the second day at Enrich for 2013! Today we found out what our concept for the year is, if you bothered to read the title you would already know. Our concept is patterns, which means we will be learning what all the definitions are and how people/humans use them. For example, a black and white striped pattern may not be good for a zebra if its in the desert on its own. But if its in a huge herd of zebras the lion/predator won't be able to catch the zebra as its focused on all the zebras instead of having its eyes locked onto one of them. Its the same with sharks and fish, and people trying to shoot ducks the animals go straight over/around them and they will always miss as they are not commited to the one animal, well to make that story short, thanks to the pattern on the animals the predator was not able to turn the animal into animal pie. That is one of the main concepts of patterns, survivability. The other three are beauty, strenghth and order. Order is like the pattern you use in your day, for example, order is like the routine you use for your day, like what classroms use, they always use the same boring sequence for the day, but luckily for Enrich students, their day is always different in a way. Well, that is my post until next week. Please comment.

Hello and goodbye blog watchers, this is going to be my last blog post for the term. Thank you for viewing my blog, I'll see you all next year. =)

I'll tell you about my favourite subject at Enrich, passion time. For passion time I made a scooter with my friend Max. The first thing we did for our scooters was to see if we coulld get a welder to come in. The welder said "yes" so that started us off. Next, we started planning our scooters, then we gave the designs to our welder to make the scooters. After that Max and I decided that we would spray paint our scooters. It was quite a ong process to do our spraypainting because we had to scratch out scooters up with metal sponges. Once we had did that we had to cover the parts which we were spraypainting.  Darryn, then showed us how to spraypaint our scooters.  This is what they ended up looking like:

The unheared story of Goldolocks and the 3 bears

Today was week 6 for Enrich,  term 4. In the            morning we did passion time. For passion time I     am writing a story called "The unheared story of    Goldilocks and the 3 bears". It is also in "kiwi"       version wich means it contains New Zeland things  like kiwifruit and pine wood. The story is about      when Goldilocks' Mother is out and Goldilocks      runs out of kiwifruit. She is hungry so she looks     for some kiwi fruit. That is all I'm up to  at the        moment. Peace out and and have a nice day!

Hurricane Sandy

Today was week 5 for term 4 at enrich. Between morning tea and lunch we had must dos and picks. First for must dos and  picks I did the Hurricane Sandy must do workshop. Hurricane Sandy is a massive Hurricane that has hit New York area over in America. At the workshop we watched a video of Hurricane Sandy. Then we discussed what we felt about it, what were the good things about it, what were the bad things, what could be the solutions, and what we were thinking about. We thought one of the good things was for President Obama because when the Hurricane came, he went over to New York to help the people there. The good thing for him was that some more people might of voted for him because they thought he would help if there was another natural disaster.

Spinning Matchstick

Today was the last day for our must dos and picks. Also, if you have been keeping up to date with the weeks of the school terms, you should also know that this is week 3 out of 8 for term 4 at Enrich. Well, back to the must dos and picks. One of the picks I did today was a science experiment called The Spinning Matchstick. I did the experiment with my friend Travis. First we had to balance a one dollar coin on a twenty cence coin. After we needed to balance the match stick on top of the one dollar coin. Next we had to cover the coins and matchstick with a see-through plastic cup. Once we had done that we rubbed a blown up balloon on the carpet to create static electricity. We then circled the cup with the balloon which made the matchstick spin. You are probably wondering why the matchstick spun. This is  why. When we rubbed the ballon on a course surface we gave the balloon additional electrons which made a static charge. The balloon repells the electrons from the matchstick because it has too many electrons but it doesn't have enough protons so it tries to attract the matchsticks protons which makes the matchstick spin.
